John David Beyer, age 56, of North Salt Lake, passed away on October 25th, 2024, after contracting a parasite called acanthamoeba.
John was born to two loving parents on May 27th, 1968, in Bountiful Utah. John was always an intelligent, kind, and passionate child, and he took all of these traits with him throughout his life. Often, he used his wit to make others laugh, his resolve to build others up around him, and his heart to bind people of all kinds together. Growing up as the second child of four, somehow he managed to become the foundation of supportive love and strength in the family.
John had a knack for absorbing knowledge, and almost annoyingly was usually right about almost everything. John’s passion for learning was nigh insatiable. This made him an excellent confidant, and his wisdom was always put to use in giving the most insightful advice.
He was an extraordinary musician, and he was constantly recognized throughout his high school and university education. His ability to pick out a tempo was incredible, and his skill with a saxophone was near unrivaled.
He was also an incredible handyman, one that was always willing to use his skills to make other’s lives easier. John also was an incredible cook, who often crafted difficult and complex meals just to see if he could.
If John could be described in one word, it would be humility. Despite his incredible intelligence, his passion for getting things right, and his will that could be called “stubbornness” to some, John was always humble. He was always willing to admit his faults, to acknowledge the truth in his mistakes, and to stay quiet when he knew it would inadvertently hurt another person. The lessons he learned in life made him wise, and he always shared his lessons with his family and friends to ease their burdens.
His loss will be felt by his loving father and mother, John Richard Beyer and Hazel Susan Martinson Beyer, His three siblings, sisters Kristy Sue Beyer Hendershot, Shannon Lee Beyer Thomas, and his brother Brett Richard Beyer. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, those of whom always loved him almost like another father. Their names are Emily Sue Hendershot Bageant, Elizabeth Jean Hendershot, Alison Racheal Hendershot, Trevor Carl Hendershot, Ian John Wellisch, Ashley Dolores Thomas, Samuel Dee Beyer, Racheal Jessica Beyer (preceded in death), James Nelson Beyer, and Gabriel Aaron Beyer. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and good friends who will feel his loss greatly.
