John Bruce Carson

July 28, 1941 – January 31, 2012

John passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.
John was born in Pomona, California on July 28, 1941.
John spent his younger years living in Alhambra, California where he attended elementary school and then on to Don Bosco Tech in San Gabriel, California. After that he attended Mount San Antonio College and Cal Poly, both in Pomona, California.
He met the love of his life, Carol Higgins at Cal Poly. They were married in Chino, California.
John was on the U. S. Mercury Satellite tracking ships while his wife Carol tended their ranch.
Their loving son Christopher Collin was born October 30, 1971 in Santa Maria, California.
Eventually they moved to Creston, California where John became a Firefighter for the City of San Luis Obispo Fire Department. They had a ranch where all worked together raising sheep and Australian Shepards. One of their favorite hobbies was rock hounding.
After John retired from the Fire Department, they moved to Cedar City, Utah and a few years later to Bountiful, Utah, as Carol became seriously ill and needed to be near larger medical facilities.
John loved to go to antique stores, estates sales and thrift stores.
John is survived by his wonderful son, Christopher of Bountiful; his brother, Lawrence (Rebecca) Carson of Guinda, California; his nephew, Michael Carson of Woodland, California; nephew, Robert (Debbie) Carson of Guinda, California; niece, Catherine (Mark) Hopkins of Ione, California; great-nephews, Benjamin Carson and Steven Hopkins; great-niece, Emily Ann Hopkins; along with numerous cousins and of course all the wonderful people he made friends with over the last few years in Utah.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Carson and his parents, Laurence and Christina Carson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
