John Clark

BOUNTIFUL, UT-John Clark passed away at his home on October 8, 2010. He was born June 7, 1929 in Tooele, Utah to Marcellus Ratcliff Clark and Hilda Lindberg. He was married to Donna Marie Ellertson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 3, 1947. They later divorced. He married Wilma Oman Shields in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 14, 1975. She passed away in 1984 and he married Janet Baker Schofield on March 13, 1986. He retired from the FAA in 1988. John was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many positions including serving 11 years as a temple worker in the Salt Lake, Nauvoo, and Bountiful Temples. He also served with his wife, Janet, on missions in the Philippines and in Nauvoo. He enjoyed travel and working with his hands. His artistic nature was manifest in his artwork and sculpture as well as in the homes he designed and built for his family. He came from a musical heritage as well and passed his talents on to many of his posterity. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Edith Joy (Robert) Barrus; his twin brother, Edwin; and two stepsons, Robert Scott Hagen and Craig Schofield. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his sister, Marlene (Winslow) Young; his 12 children and step-children; and a wonderful posterity of 58 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Mueller Park Stake Center, 1800 East 1800 South, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Wednesday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. In lieu of flowers, we suggest donations to the LDS Missionary fund.
