John Darrell Page

July 9, 1943 — August 9, 2017

In loving memory of our Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Brother, who recently returned to his Heavenly Father.  Born in Ogden, Utah on July 9, 1943 to Melva and Darrell Page. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Southern California and married his high school sweetheart Linda Moss on June 18, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS temple.  They lived in Centerville and West Bountiful.  He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in various callings, including the scouting program for many years.  He worked in construction/carpentry for most of his adult life and used those skills in helping his family and neighbors with their projects. He enjoyed being a member of SASS Cowboy Action Shooting Club where he made many close friends.  His greatest love and joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom he often teased and affectionately referred to as his “ugly grandchildren”.

He is survived by his children Bart (Ronda), Gilbert, AZ; Shantelle Harris (Ben) St. George, UT; Cherise Terry (Clint) Syracuse, UT; Trisha Wernli (Jason) Woods Cross, UT; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Moss.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  A viewing will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main St. Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the West Bountiful Stake Center, 1930 N. 600 W. West Bountiful, Utah, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.  Interment- Lakeview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the John D. Page Search and Rescue Memorial Fund at America First Credit Union account #9096447. All donations will be given by the family to the county Search and Rescue teams involved in the search for John.

The family would like to thank the West Bountiful Police Department, the Search and Rescue teams from Tooele, Box Elder, Utah and Davis counties and the hundreds of the volunteers who participated in the efforts to find our dad and bring him home.
