Jack was born Oct. 25, 1921 to John Harry Peterson, Sr. and Estella F. Clayton in Idaho Falls, Idaho, one of four children and the only son. Jack joined the Army Air Corps during WWII and was trained as a fighter pilot serving in Europe flying P-38’s and P-47’s. He was recalled into the Air Force during the Korean War and made a decision to remain in the military retiring as a Lt. Col. after 33 years of service.
