On the afternoon of May 31, 2015 John Michael Green passed peacefully from natural causes in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 49. He was surround by his loving family as his unconquerable spirit rejoined his Heavenly Father.
John was born in Salt Lake City, Utah December 16, 1965 with Osteogenisis Imperfecta, a brittle bone disease. During his childhood he and his family were repeatedly told not to expect him to have a very long or fulfilling life. Boy, did John prove those doctors wrong. Instead of being shattered by this disease he was empowered by it. The disease accentuate in him an insatiable love for life, a special kindness toward others, and unwavering perseverance.
John never sat on sidelines of life. Whether it was riding down hills in little red wagons over homemade jumps, or graduating from Woods Cross High School and later becoming a highly skilled computer programmer; John savored every moment and adventure. After serving an LDS genealogical mission, John pursued his career in computer programming. His ingenuity, determination, and intelligence afforded him the opportunity to create medical programs for prestigious institutions including Massachusetts General Hospital, Seattle's Harbor View Medical Center, Keiser Permanante in California, and the Mayo Clinic.
In 1992 John met and married the love of his life, JaNene. Their family was later made whole with the addition of two beautiful boys, Sean and Chris.
John is survived by his loving wife JaNene Green, their two sons, Sean Douglas Green and Christopher "Chris" Cloy Green; his mother and father, Patricia Jones Green and Lorin Douglas Green; his siblings and their spouses, Debbie and Trent Stoker, Kathy and Alex Edgar, Steven Dale and Holly Green, Diane and Russell Lund, Christopher James and Emily Green, Jennifer and Jason Brown; and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.
A viewing will be held Friday, June 5th at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, Utah from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, June 6th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at 165 South 1000 East Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services for John will be held at the LDS Chapel on 165 South 1000 East Bountiful, Utah on Saturday, June 6 at 11:00 AM after which he will be interred in the Lakeview Memorial Cemetery.
While growing up John was treated by the wonderful staff of Shriners Hospital. His family wishes to express immense gratitude to them for all of the years of added life that they gave John. Anyone wishing to honor John may make a donation to Shriners Hospital. John's family also wishes to express their deepest thanks to the staff at South Davis Community Hospital for their excellent care of John these last six months.
We know John, that you have found your peace and joy. You are always remembered and loved. 'Til we meet again.
