John Clark Preece, 58, passed away on August 8, 2012 in Bountiful, Utah much to his dismay as he was planning on golfing 18 holes at Lakeside golf course with his buddies that day. John was a great golfer and loved the game. He got his first hole in one on February 27, 1999 and the second on July 14, 2010. He was a very talented finish carpenter. His work was a thing of beauty and perfection. His work can be seen all throughout Davis County in homes and businesses. He achieved an Eagle Scout as a boy.
John also enjoyed gardening and grew a garden and shared his fruit and vegetables with friends and family. He was a great and loyal friend to many. John enjoyed cooking and entertaining almost as much as eating at Kitty Pappas Steak House. He loved the Rolling Stone and named Angie after one of their songs. John was an avid Ute fan and already had his season tickets in hand.
John was born April 15, 1954 to Oral Junior Preece and Dorothy Colleen Clark. He graduated from Viewmont High in 1972. John married Robyn Butler September 29, 1972 and had three daughters: Jamie, Stacea and Angie. John loved his girls and grandchildren with all his heart.
John is survived by his three daughters, Jamie (Steve) Anderson, West Bountiful; Stacea (Nick) Crowther, Kaysville; and Angie (Nate) Forster, Kaysville; 7 grandchildren: Dylan, Megan, Mayson, Devin, Maddie, Saydee and Cache; brothers, Scott Preece, and Dan (Shelly) Preece; sisters, Chris (Don) Martin, Tami (Tim) Manning, and Annette (Blake) Judd. Preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2012 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Monday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
