Biography

John “Jack” Arnold Texeira, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend, passed away on June 20, 2012, at his home in North Salt Lake surrounded by the loves of his life, his wife Ellen, loving son Jonathan, daughter Jayme with her husband Steve Garn and his prodigy, his two beautiful grand-daughters, Londyn and Berklee. Jack was a remarkable person. He could make you laugh when you were down and he could make you smile during your hardest times. Jack had an amazing singing voice and he played the guitar without an effort even though he had no formal training in either. Jack was a peace keeper and never spoke harshly of others. He did not like confrontation but would instead always try to be positive and boost everyone’s spirits. Jack could be the light in a darkened room, his jokes and humorous spirit always livened up the space by just walking into it. Jack met his sweetheart Ellen Ray while both were living in the “Bay Area” of California and continued his journey in Utah after marrying her. When he married Ellen, he brought his pleasing and peaceful soul into the Ray family where his spirit will remain for all eternity. He touched all who met him and his name will never be mentioned without a smile and a fond memory. Jack is survived by his wife Ellen, daughter Jayme (Steve) Garn and their two children Londyn and Berklee, son Jonathan, sister Beverly Sutton and many extended family members who loved and adored him. Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Texeira, mother, Mary Jane Vital, and father John Texeira, mother and father-in-law George and Beth Ray, and his nephew Casey Kelly Ray.
