Jolene Barneck Goff, loving mother, nana, and long time resident of Clearfield, Utah, passed away October 30, 2024. She was born January 11, 1954, in Ogden, Utah, as the second daughter of six children to Ralph and Norma Barneck. Her childhood was spent in Clearfield around loving family and friends. She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1972 where she was a member of the senior class council. Jolene competed in the Miss Clearfield pageant during her senior year and was crowned Miss Congeniality. She then enrolled at LDS Business College earning her associate’s degree in Business and Communication. She went on to the University of Utah being awarded a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. During her time in college, she worked as a waitress at the local JB’s restaurant and often told her children stories about her time there. She married John Goff on September 7, 1973. They brought two “little baby boys” and one “pumpkin” into the world.
Her first “real” job was for Sunset Sports Center. She excelled in her position moving around within the company as it grew and was later purchased by different owners. Later, she worked for Taco Time where she drew much of the artwork they still use in their marketing and menu designs. During her long career, she also was employed for Field of Dreams, Lifetime Products, as a sports writer for the Standard Examiner, and Accucolor Printing. She took her experience and operated her own Etsy shop. After her mother retired, she owned and managed Barneck Preschool as “Mayor.”
Jolene contributed to her community by volunteering on the Clearfield Community Council, University of Utah Parents Association, as a young women’s leader, and for the local Cub and Boy Scouts program. She loved sewing, drawing, graphic design, gardening, crafting, cooking, and baking. She devoted her life to her children and their happiness.
