Devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Born to Bernard and Geraldine Davenport of Cleveland, OH. Later grew up with grandmother Lilly Mae Ferguson in Green River, Wyoming until enlisting in the Army. Then relocated to Salt Lake City, UT. Survived by loving wife Sherrie Davenport, and Arick Ron (Heather) Davenport, Jon Stephon Davenport, Julius davenport, Steven Serrano, Celena Davenport and Kyle ( Sarah) Williams. Sister Regina (David) Davidson, sixteen grandchildren, one niece, one great nephew, and a host of aunts, uncles and friends. Proceeded in death by parents, wife Alberta Davenport, son Jon Ricky Davenport Jr. Special recognition of two special friends Patricia Torres and Patty Mae Serrano. Jon served in the Army and received an honorable discharge. He was a dedicated Salt Lake City employee for many years. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Utah Jazz Fan. He loved to spend his leisure time gardening, having a cold beer, listening to music, and spending time with family. He touched the hearts of everyone he crossed paths with. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 12:00 Noon in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday October 25, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 South 200 East.
