Joseph Donald Adams, Jr.

September 26, 1937 — February 20, 2024

Joseph Donald Adams, Jr., 86, of Centerville, Utah was peacefully called home by our Lord on February 20, 2024.  He was born in Westover, New York, the child of Helen Roberta (Squires) Adams and Joseph Donald Adams, Sr.  Life's journey took him to Kentucky, Texas, New Jersey, Georgia, Arizona, and finally to Utah, with each place adding a unique chapter in his life.
Joseph was an exemplary model of diligence and perseverance.  After joining the Navy Reserve and graduating from High School in New York, he began his long and successful career with IBM.  He received his bachelor's degree from St. Edwards University in Austin, TX and his MBA from Pace University in New York City - all while working full-time for IBM. His work was a testament to his dedication, and he was widely respected in the fields of electronics, executive management, and entrepreneurial endeavors.
He loved to travel, especially to Machu Picchu, Peru and throughout Europe.  He loved to learn and had a wide range of interests, including human behavior, how things are made, and pondering ancient history.  He had a great love for people and enjoyed interacting, teaching, and sharing his insights with others.  He was a collector of rocks and minerals and various other things connected to all that he felt an affinity for. Music played a huge role throughout his life; his favorite genres were jazz and new-age music. He sang, played the piano, drums, and ukulele-banjo when he was young.
Joseph was a loving husband, dad, father-in-law, grandad, great-grandad, uncle, cousin, and good friend.  He was preceded in death by his loving parents, brothers Chuck Adams (who was like a father to him), Roy Adams, Robert Adams and sister Lenore (Adams) Crandall of New York; granddaughter Amber Adams, and his children's mother and former spouse Patricia Ann Molander of Austin, TX.
Joseph is survived by his children and their spouses: Tim Adams (Carmen) and Tom Adams (Cindy); six grandchildren: Jake Adams (Sarah); Kristin Adams Link (Val), Heather Adams and Taylor Adams of Texas; Kyle Valcourt (Heather) and Celeste Gonzales (Jonathan) of Minnesota.  He is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Jameson and Hannah Adams; Eva, Camila and Merrick Link of Texas and Mackenzie Bassett of Minnesota.
Joseph is also survived by his wife, Sandy, and considered her children and grandchildren as his own - always concerned with their lives and well-being. He enjoyed family get-togethers, writing books, telling stories, sharing his wit, smile, humor, and laughter with all those around him.  He was eager to provide life coaching and service to others, and often imparted his wisdom and life lessons at every opportunity.
He lived a full and rewarding life, full of positive energy, and with no regrets.  Joseph loved God, family, and friends, and while we will miss him dearly, his memory and our love for him will live on within our hearts and souls.
