Joseph Scott Montgomery

Joseph Scott Montgomery, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend was born on September 11, 1978 in Boise, Idaho and passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 6, 2017 at his parents’ home in Eagle, Idaho.  He was the third of four sons born to Gary and Marilyn Montgomery.  He had an impish happy spirit, and a zest for life and adventure.  He attended school in Meridian Idaho, graduating from Centennial High School, and studied at Brigham Young University.  Professionally, he produced programming for KBYU-TV, and was the creator and executive producer of KSL Studio 5.  At the time of his death, he was a co-founder and owner of TYM, an award-winning custom home theater and automation company.  He was active in regional theater as an actor and director, particularly with CenterPoint Legacy Theatre in Centerville, Utah.

He was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He served a mission in Donetsk, Ukraine, and dearly loved the people of Ukraine.  He loved the Lord and lived his faith. He had a caring heart and a precious gift for friendship.

He married the love of his life, Melanie Ann Shore, on December 15, 2015.  He was devoted to his family, first always to his beautiful Melanie, followed closely by his beloved nieces and nephews.  He blessed our lives with boundless humor, countless acts of love and service, kindness and loyalty. 

He is survived by his wife Melanie Shore, parents Gary and Marilyn Montgomery, father and mother-in-law Jim and Sylvia Shore, sister-in-law Amy Shore, grandmother Helen Montgomery, brothers and sisters-in-law Brad Montgomery, Greg and Kristin Montgomery, Matt and Camee Montgomery, and nieces and nephews Ty, Madi, Kaylee, Sofia, Jayce, Mia, Violet and Emmie Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre, 525 North 400 West, Centerville, Utah 84014.

Prior to the service, family members will greet friends at the LDS Church, 690 North 400 West, Centerville, UT from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
