Joy Lehi Toronto, 63, passed away peacefully at home in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 10th , 2015. She was born on 24 June 1952 in Richfield, Utah to Willy and Helen Lehi, and later adopted by Joseph Young and Ila Christensen Toronto.
She grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah, graduated from Spanish Fork High School and attended BYU. She worked as a purchasing agent for Weber Aircraft Inc, in Los Angeles.
She was dearly loved by her family, loyal to her friends, and known for her subtle sense of humor. She was thoughtful, had a compassionate heart and always looked out for the underdog. She loved her two sons and was proud of her granddaughters.
Joy is survived by her sons, Ryan Javier and Jovan Andre Woodard both of California, two granddaughters, Jasmine and Ryley, siblings, Chris (Judy) Toronto, Maria (Michael) Moody, Elisabeth (Roydon) Olsen, Joan (Gordon) Mills, John (Carolyn) Toronto, and many nieces and nephews. She had a favorite cat, Leila who was her companion for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at Liberty 8th Ward, 270 East 500 South, Salt Lake City at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. The family will be greeting guests 30 minutes before the services.
