Joy McBride Regenthal, born on September 7, 1931 in Hyrum, Utah to Willis and Flora McBride, passed away on August 18, 2014 in Bountiful, Utah.
She married Albert F. Regenthal on May 8th, 1953 in Hyrum, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Bountiful Utah Temple.
Joy attended the University of Utah, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Elementary Education. She was an exceptional teacher in the Davis School District for 26 years and devoted much time, energy, and love in touching the lives of all her students.
Her greatest joy in life was her family and she was devoted to her parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren. She was a member of the Utah Daughters of the Pioneers. She was an avid reader and enjoyed nature. She loved yearly visits to Jackson Hole, Arizona, and Newport Beach with family.
She is survived by her daughters Sue (Scott) Crapo, Dianne (Larry) Meppen, and her grandchildren, Erin (Greg) Flint, Cherstin (Bryan) German, Jordan (Zac) Smith, Catherine Meppen, Meredith Meppen, Luke Crapo, and great grandchildren Olivia, Addison, Berkley, Caleb, Macy, Samantha, and Isaac. Joy is also survived by her siblings Jeri (Clair) Woodward, Margo (John – dec.) Krusi, and Jeff (Barbara) McBride. She is preceded in death by her husband Al and her beloved son James.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful 13th Ward Chapel, 1365 N. 650 E. Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may visit on Friday, August 22nd from 6:00-8:00 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main Bountiful, Utah and on Saturday at the church from 9:45 -10:45 prior to services. Interment-Hyrum City Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Legacy House in Bountiful and Aspire Health Care.
