Joyce Richardson Cummings, 88, passed away peacefully March 19, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born March 26, 1922 in Manassa, Colorado to Joseph Alexander Richardson and Delma Elmina Smith. Married James O. Cummings on January 20, 1943, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Joyce was the oldest of six children and attended schools in Salt Lake City, graduating from LDS Business College. She began her career at HAFB as secretary to the general and later retired as a contract negotiator. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and appreciated fashion and a well-decorated home. She was an avid shopper and created a large collection of porcelain dolls, beginning with clay and fabric, finishing with a work of art. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband James O. She is survived by son James R. (Marlene) Cummings; and daughters Susan (Kent) Kofford and Rebecca Jo (Richard) Farnsworth; grandchildren: Kristine Keagy; John, Tom, Jeff & Scott Kofford; Joseph, David, Sam & Chris Farnsworth; great-grandchildren: Arika Keagy; Bridger, Elleke, Avarie, Hudson, Kelton, & Gavin Kofford; Spencer, James, Grace, Andrew, Katelyn, Hallie, Allison, Lucy & Madison Farnsworth. The family wishes to thank the caregivers of Vistacare Hospice, particularly Marilyn, Cynthia, Marie, Sherrie, Brandi and Tami; and the staff of the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home, especially Andy, Sherrie, Cassandra and Logan, for their tender loving care. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24th, 2:00PM at Russon Bros Mortuary in Bountiful.
