Joyce Hafen

Joyce Rasmussen Hafen, age 85, passed away August 30, 2012 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born January 30, 1927 to Ivin Victor Rasmussen and Sarah Etta Crowther in Fountain Green, Utah. She married Mabin Melvin Hafen on September 29, 1948 in the Manti Utah Temple.

Joyce loved shining windows, the Lawrence Welk show, music, and dancing. She worked as a waitress at the Lion House and the Hotel Utah and loved to sit for an hour or so during meals in order to talk and enjoy the food. She served faithfully in the Primary organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many other callings. She is noted for her cheerful attitude, her beautiful hair, and her remarkable patience. She loved her neighbors and her family very much.

Joyce was preceded in death by her dedicated husband, parents, two sisters, and two brothers. She is survived by her son, Keith Melvin Hafen of Farmington, her daughter, Elaine Hafen Tuttle of Lexington, South Carolina, a brother, Carl Rasmussen, a sister Camille Field, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Visitations will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the LDS Bountiful Tabernacle, 51 South Main Street at 10:00 a.m. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
