Joyce Louise Egginton

May 8, 1930 — July 15, 2015

Joyce Louise Browning Egginton was born May 8th, 1930 and passed away July 15, 2015.  Joyce was the daughter of Robert Oscar Browning and Margaret Brown Storey.   She married Jack Hardy Egginton March 21st, 1951 in Salt Lake City, and their marriage was solemnized November 10, 1972 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Joyce grew up in Ogden, Utah and attended Ogden High where she was a member of Carpe Diem (Rose Petal Gems). She then went on to attend Weber College and the University of Utah where she was a member of OTYOKWA and Pi Beta Phi.  Born of a professional musician, she developed a love for the piano, and by age 14 was on the road to becoming a concert pianist, but life took her on a different path. After her marriage to Jack Egginton, a pilot in the US Air Force, she traveled the world for 25 years.  She made a home for her family in Washington, California, Alaska, Alabama, Norway, Florida, Michigan, Thailand, New York, Belgium, and finally home to Utah.  She volunteered for many humanitarian organizations.  Joyce hosted countless receptions and parties for dignitaries and diplomats and had a knack to charm them all.
As a member of the LDS Church she played the piano in branches around the world, served as a Stake Laurel leader and did hundreds of hours of compassionate service and visiting teaching. Her favorite job was being enrichment leader with her beloved friends in the Bountiful 29th Ward.  She served with her husband as a full time family history missionary for 18 months in Jackson, Mississippi 2000-2001.
She was preceded in death by her only sister Anne and is survived by her husband Jack, her three children Lynne (Michael McLean) Jack (Melinda Ellis), Tracy (Con Thueson), 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the George Wahlen Veterans Home from the hairdresser to her final Hospice care. She loved you all and we are grateful for your service.
