Judy Lynn Lambert Houston passed away peacefully at home in the morning hours of April 11, 2025. She was born on May 30, 1940, in Ballard, Utah to Essie Labrum Lambert and Keith Parley Lambert.
When Judy was an infant, her father joined the army and moved the family to Salt Lake City, Utah. After her father completed his time in the Army, the family purchased a farm in Bluebell, Utah. Where she would help her brother with the daily farm chores. She attended elementary and middle school in Bluebell and Altamont, Utah. When it was time to attend High School, she moved to Roosevelt to live with her grandma Labrum. She graduated from Union High School in 1958. After High School she attended the LDS Business School and worked several clerk jobs in the Salt Lake City area. She also spent a year living and working in Hawaii.
She married Gordon Lee Houston on July 19, 1963, in Elko, Nevada. They resided in Bountiful, Utah for over 60 years where they raised their three children. She was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed making clothes for her two young daughters, plus Barbie doll and baby doll outfits. She was well known by the residents in her neighborhood for the dance recital outfits and bridesmaids dresses she sewed for others. She was an avid Jazz Basketball fan; you could tell by how loud she was yelling at the TV whether they were winning or losing.
Gordon and Judy enjoyed their retirement years camping and traveling around Utah and surrounding states, especially spending the winter months in Arizona. During this time, she also enjoyed traveling to craft fairs selling her handmade crafts. Her special enjoyment was creating baby blankets for others.
Judy is survived by her husband, Gordon Houston, a son Troy (Meliss) Houston and a daughter Lisa (Yale) Johnson, 1 grandson and 5 granddaughters and 6 great grandchildren plus one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents Keith and Essie Lambert, her brother Jerry Lambert and her daughter DeeAnn Houston Gilbert.
The family would like to thank the care givers from Atlas Home Health for their assistance and kind care of our mother during this time.
