Julia Billy Rodgers

Julia Billy Thompson Rodgers, age 79, passed away Thursday night September 6, 2012 following a courageous battle with a long term illness. Born September 22, 1932 in Green River, Utah, the daughter of Rowland Pierce and Pearl Hanks Thompson. She married Merlyn Royce Rodgers on October 10, 1949.
Julia was a member of the LDS Church and loved to serve. People noted her generosity, love and caring of others. Julia enjoyed cooking, knitting and sewing clothes for everyone. She worked at St. Mark’s Hospital for thirty years and was very proud of what she had accomplished.
Survived by her daughter, Roxcie Ann Varela; sons, Royce and Rodney Rodgers; 3 sisters;
2 brothers; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Bountiful LDS Chapel, 585 East Center Street. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Wednesday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
