Former resident Julia Hansen Darrington died peacefully on April 27, 2005 surrounded by her loved ones. She lived the last 16 years with her daughter Diane in West Valley City, Utah. She was born on May 30, 1918 in Springdale, Idaho to Solomon and Ellen Judd Hansen. She grew up in Declo, the 5th of 8 children. She married Darrell Darrington on May 1, 1939 in Burley, Idaho. They were sealed in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on July 3, 1941. They raised 5 children in the Declo?Burley area and spent 47 years together.

A lifelong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various Church auxiliary organizations through her life, particularly Young Women and Junior Sunday School.

Julia is survived by her children: Darrell Jerry Nancy, Merced, California, Diane Doane Lyle, West Valley City, Utah, Thomas L., Sandpoint, Idaho, Elaine Whiting Brent, Salt Lake City Utah; and Kris Gold Wayne, West Valley City, Utah; a brother Ray Hansen, Gilbert, Arizona, a sister, Barbara Wray, Bountiful, Utah, twenty-three grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Darrell, infant daughter Karen Ellen, three brothers and two sisters.

Viewing will be Sunday, May 1 at the Russon Brothers Mortuary in Salt Lake City, Utah from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the Jordan 5th Ward Chapel, 3920 W. Bobwhite Way 4145 S. West Valley City, Utah. A graveside service will be held that afternoon at 3:30 in the Declo Cemetery, Declo, Idaho. Online guest book and directional maps available at www.russonmortuary.com
