Julia Mae Foy Brough

November 27, 1927 — March 30, 2015

Julia Mae Foy Brough passed away March 30, 2015, in Kaysville, Utah.  She was born on November 27, 1927, in Logan, Utah.  She was the third daughter, of five daughters and a son born to Leslie Thomas and Florence Howard Tuttle Foy.

She spent most of her young life in Bountiful, Utah, where she graduated from Davis High School.  She married LaGrande Richard Brough for time and eternity on July 27, 1948, in the Manti LDS Temple.

To them were born twin boys Keith and Kent; a son David; twin boys Lester and Chester; and a daughter Lani Mae.   Julia is survived by three children, twelve grandchildren, and thirty-one great grandchildren.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband LaGrande, as well as their sons Keith (died in 1976), David (born and died in 1951), and Lester (born and died in 1953).

Julia is survived by her sisters Jean Call, of Logan, Utah; Inez (and Forest) Barker of Fruit Heights, Utah; her brother Leslie (and Connie) Foy of Farmington, Utah; and her sister Sally Moore of Fruitland, Idaho.  A sister, Lola Smith, preceded her in death.

Survivors also include Keith’s wife, Valaree Brough, of Grants Pass, Oregon; Kent (and Lois) of Middleton, Idaho; Chester (and Elena) of Logan, Utah; Lani Mae (and Alan) Porter of Kaysville, Utah; and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Julia was a supportive wife, a devoted mother, and a beloved grandmother.  She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully in many callings in the church.  She and LaGrande served in the Chicago Temple, while living in the Midwest.  She was an avid reader and a life-long learner.  She loved to cook, and her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay.

Julia and LaGrande and their children spent many summers together serving at Boy Scout camps, and later as caretakers at Piuta Girls Camp.  She will be greatly missed by all who know and love her.  Her family takes comfort in knowing that she no longer suffers the pains of a lingering illness, and that she is reunited with many of her loved ones again.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St., Farmington.  Family and friends may call Thursday, evening April 2, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Russon Brothers Mortuary.  Interment-Hyrum City Cemetery.
