Julian Curtis Dicks age 81, passed away on Thursday March 17, 2016 due to renal failure and diabetes.
Julian was born on April 9, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William Henry Dicks and Elaine Grace Parrish. He married his Sweetheart Carolyn Wiseman on October 3, 1958. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, January 21, 1978.
After being raised in Elko Nevada, Julian moved back to Salt Lake City after High School Graduation. He attended Utah Technical School, learning construction. He worked as a projectionist at the Queen Theatre in Bountiful Utah where he met Carolyn. He was drafted in the Army and served two years as a vehicle mechanic in Germany.
Julian retired from Flying J Refinery after 37 years, and worked part-time as a Big Rig Tow Truck Driver for Bullock Towing. After retirement Julian worked part-time at the Delta Center in Security and volunteered at the Bountiful Temple.
Dad loved camping, and vacationing with his family. He loved taking pictures, and watching the sunset.
Julian is survived by his wife Carolyn of 57 years and their five children. Michael J. (Valerie Jean) Dicks, Suzanne (Bill) Oakden, Marsha (Brent) Jensen, Valerie (Jeff) Smith, Ryan (Jamie) Dicks. 18 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren with two more to join the family this Summer. Sister Edith (Merlin) Mackay, Brother Robert (Jane) Dicks.
Preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Haylee Paige Dicks, Billy Oakden, and one Brother Kenneth William Dicks.
A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary on Wednesday March 23 from 6-8 pm at 295 North Main St. Bountiful. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Thursday March 24th, with a viewing one hour prior, at the LDS 31st ward Bldg. 585 East Center St. Bountiful Utah.
