Our Jewel, Julie Ellen Yates Morley was born in Clarkston Washington on December 30rd, 1967, and died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021.
Julie graduated from Viewmont High School in 1986, afterward working as a nanny and EMT. Julie loved working with special needs children. She was a special education teachers assistant for many years. This inspired her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in education. While attending university, Julie supported her family by working at Hi Valley Chemical Company in Centerville, Utah. Her work at Hi Valley provided more than an income for Julie and she found a supportive environment to really find her strength, dignity, and confidence.
As a fierce protector of her family and friends, she survived challenging circumstances with grace and humor.
From Uno to WhoKnow she had a library of games which she used to bring people together to share laughs and life’s moments. She loved jokes both punny and practical and had a Lego obsession which adorned her workspace.
She is profoundly missed by everyone her life has touched. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joice May Hartley. Julie is survived by her father, Dale Morris Yates and stepmother Sandra Lee Yates, children Kevin Tucker Morley, Christopher Brandon Morley (wife Holly), Amber Lynn Morley Higgins (husband Jaden), grandchildren Xander Adam Morley and Ella Donna Morley. She is also survived by her brother Matthew Whorley (wife Niko), sister April Hartley (husband Jamey), brother Adam Yates (wife Kim), sister Wendy Hilton, and sister Andrea Hilton. She dearly loved her nieces, Michelle (husband Walker), Sarah (husband Bryan), and Charlotte and her nephews Cass and Augustus as well as her great niece Elizabeth and great nephews Nathan, Oliver, and Vincent.
A service to honor Julie will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel at 1476 North 300 West in Bountiful, Utah on Saturday, December 11th at 1:30 pm. You can also join the service remotely via Zoom at:
