Julie Sorensen was born in Salt Lake City, UT on October 20, 1956 to Don J. Sorensen and Shirley Kay Stevenson. She spent her youth in the hills of Bountiful playing and causing mischief, with one of her favorite stories being the time her friends "kidnapped" her and tied her up to the Val Verda Arch for all passing motorists to see!
She graduated from Viewmont High School in 1974. She went on to attend Rick's College and later Utah State University. While at Utah State she met Farshid Dailami. They married in 1979 and moved to Orange, CA. Two years later had a son named Jeremy. They spent four years together and she later returned to Utah.
She loved taking personality tests and was very proud to be deemed a "yellow" personality. All that knew her could confer. She loved having fun and was always the life of the party with self-given monikers like Queen Bee and Queen Granny Jules – her favorite name after she became a grandmother twice over. In her final years, she loved being surrounded by her grandson, Kingston, and the granddaughter she always wanted, Mila. She was an amazing grandmother and showered her grandchildren with so much love. We are excited to share these stories of love with them as they get older.
She is survived by her son, Jeremy (Joanne) Dailami, mother, Shirley Sorensen, sister, Karen Mortensen, and brother, Don J. (Maija) Sorensen.
