Our dear sweetheart, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend, June Firth Call, returned with honor to her Heavenly Father on Sunday evening, September 29, 2013. June had a wonderful life!
June was born to Bert and Jennie Firth on June 27, 1928 in Bothwell, Utah. She earned a degree in education from Utah State University in 1951. June married her sweetheart, Stephen W. Call, in the Logan Temple on February 28, 1952. Her greatest joy was her role as a mother.
She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many church callings. June and Steve spent many of their retirement years as church service missionaries, working side by side on special assignments for Farm Management in England, at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and as the electrical engineer and finance clerk for the building of the Nauvoo Temple. They made a beautiful team in all they did together.
June was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her husband, Stephen W. Call; children, Susan Schulthies (Centerville, UT), Reed and Patty (Tracy, CA), and Alan and Annie (Bountiful, UT); 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren as well as her foster daughter Rena and Lambert Bennett (Farmington, NM) and their family. June was well-loved and respected by all whom she had the joy of knowing. She will be truly missed. Thank you for believing in us Mom and for showing us the way by your love and example.
The family would like to thank Alan, Annie, and Chelsey Call for their loving round-the-clock care of June, which enabled her to continue living at home with those she loved. We will be forever grateful to you! We also extend our appreciation to Applegate Homecare & Hospice and Dr. Hans Jenkins for their professional and loving service to June.
