June Hollist Vowles
1926 – 2015
On February 3, 2015, our loving and beautiful mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully with her daughters and sister by her side. We will miss her more than she will ever know. June was born June 10, 1926 in Farmington, Utah to H. Clarence and Vera E. Carlos Hollist. She lived in Farmington where she attended Davis County schools. June worked for Mountain Bell and U.S. West Telephone companies for 25 years in many different capacities. She retired in 1982. June married 1st Lt. Wilson G. Barton in 1946 who died in a fishing accident that same year. June later married Frank S. Vowles in 1948. June and Frank (“Dutch”) were together for 47 wonderful years and raised three children: a son, Dr. Wilson Richard Barton (Kathryn), and two daughters, Kathe Porter (Steve) and Konnie Collins (Rick). June also has 3 sisters – Jeanne Larsen, Maurine Barker, Marilyn Rose (Calvin) and 1 brother, Van Hollist. Dutch, Jeanne and Van preceded her in death. She also has 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In 1996, June married an old friend J. Morris Burnett (now also deceased). They traveled extensively and lived in Farmington and St. George, Utah.
