Karen Ann Lewis, 54, was reunited with her Father in Heaven on Sunday March 24, 2019 while surrounded by her family and loved ones. Karen passed peacefully at her home in Farmington, UT, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Karen was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Michael & Judy Krantz on September 19, 1964. She was the sister to Dave Krantz, Mark Krantz and Scott Krantz (Jill). She grew up in Preston, Idaho, where she met her lifelong sweetheart, Phil Dee Lewis, at the age of 13; she was a cheerleader and he was a student from the opposing school. They dated throughout high school and, after Phil’s LDS mission, they married in the Logan, Utah, temple on June 7, 1984.
Together, they had four beautiful children, Brooke Ann Lewis (29), Dillan Dee Lewis (26), Paige Ann Lewis (22) and Ridge Michael Lewis (19), as well as a daughter-in-law, Katelyn Lewis (Dillan). More recently, Karen was thrilled to welcome her granddaughter, Weslie Karen Lewis, to the world. Karen and Weslie shared an extraordinary bond, which was seen by everyone.
Karen was a loving, fun, and feisty wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She was known for building deep, lifelong friendships with everyone she met. Her beauty on the outside matched her caring personality on the inside. Despite many struggles with her health, Karen never complained and always kept her humor and feisty spirit. Her strong faith in her Savior was her certain source of grace and her ability to take her struggles in stride, always with a smile. Karen’s Christ-like love for those she cared for was evident in her ability to lend a sincere ear and kind word to everyone; she was always the greatest advocate for equality and the underdog. Karen will be profoundly missed, but we are certain she was greeted with open arms and the embrace of loved ones who passed before her. Her strength and faith are an inspiration to everyone who was blessed to know her.
