Karen Doney

Our beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother – Karen Camille Jensen Doney returned to our Heavenly Father on January 5, 2013. She was born on July 28, 1941 in Salt lake City, Utah to Harold and Faye Jensen. She courageously endured numerous health issues throughout her life. Despite these trials, Karen had a tremendous love for life and for people. She enjoyed going places, and adored her family and being surrounded by her darling grandchildren. Karen was married to Dee W. Doney on July 2, 1962 in the Logan Temple. They were later divorced. They had 4 children. Karen was an active member of the LDS Church and had a strong faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed painting, drawing and writing. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters – Christie and Claudia. She is survived by her sister Kathy Nelson; her children – Virginia Proctor (Greg), Christopher Doney (Kathy), Scott Doney (Tricia) and Elizabeth Willard (Bruce); 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday January 9th at Russon Brothers Mortuary (1941 North Main, Farmington, Utah) from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and on Thursday, January 10th from 10:45-11:45 am prior to the services. The funeral services will also be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary on Thursday January 10th at 12:00 P.M. Interment – Salt Lake City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all those that have helped care for Karen over the past several years, particularly the staff at the Life Care Center of Bountiful and at the University of Utah Hospital.
