Karen Fay Brown

December 9, 1942 — April 24, 2022

Karen Fay Brown, 79, of Syracuse, Utah, died on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Beehive Homes of Syracuse. She, and her twin sister, Sharon Kay, were born on December 9, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Philip Lawrence Hamilton and Onie Odell Hamilton.

Karen married Bernard Joseph Saviano on February 1, 1964 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they lived in a small apartment in Los Angeles, California. Karen gave birth to their son, Dwayne, in May 1965. They later divorced in April 1968.

Karen met and married the love of her life, Arnold Lee Brown, in May 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They rented a house in Los Angeles where they lived for most of their married lives. Dwayne was four years old when Karen and Arnold were married, and he loved his new dad. In like manner, Arnold loved and raised Dwayne like his own son.

Her father, mother, and husband preceded her in death.

Karen moved to Utah in 1996 to be closer to her son and grandchildren. She worked for the Davis School District as a bus assistant for special needs children and retired in 2014. She was outgoing, made people laugh with her sense of humor, and made friends easily. She loved and served her family and friends in a very admirable manner. Karen had wonderful talents in cooking, crocheting, and knitting. She used her talents to serve others and to keep herself mentally and physically engaged.

She is survived by her sister, Sharon Witt. She is also survived by her son, Dwayne (Teresa) Saviano, and five grandchildren: Marina (Spencer) Madsen, Natalie (Dallas) Ware, Dallan (Taylor) Saviano, Spencer (Emily) Saviano, Nathan Saviano, and two great-grandchildren: Jaxon Ivers, and Tatum Madsen.
