Karen Louise Anderton was born November 11, 1942 in Burbank California, the oldest child of Cloyde Wood Anderton and Dale (Harmon) Anderton. She spent her early years in Glendale, California, Beaver, Utah and Twin Falls, Idaho. Her family relocated to Salt Lake City in 1945 and to Bountiful in 1956. She attended Bountiful Junior High and graduated from Bountiful High with the class of 1961. Following High School she attended Stevens-Henager College and graduated with an associate’s degree. For nearly 30 years she worked as a legal secretary in Salt Lake City for notable law firms including Kirton & McConkie, and Vancott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy. She was active in the Utah Legal Secretary Association and served for several years as the association’s secretary.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many positions in the church over the years: secretary of the Sunday School, Primary and Mutual teacher and secretary of the Relief Society. Karen was an earthly angel for many people in her life. She loved her many nieces and nephews, grandparents and aunts and uncles and frequently sent hand written notes with birthday and occasion cards. She completed her Bucket List last June by going through the Bountiful Temple. We love you Carrot Top, you will be missed.
Karen passed away on November 14, 2017 in Salt Lake City, just three days past her 75th
birthday following a lengthy illness.
