Karen B. Strasrypka 1950-2011

Karen B. Strasrypka, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and friend passed away surrounded by family on May 27, 2011. She was born March 13, 1950 in Salt Lake to Dell and Aleda Beckstrom. She was the older of two daughters. Mom graduated from West High in 1968. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She married Alvan Strasrypka on May 15, 1976. They were later divorced but continued to be close friends. Mom worked for the State of Utah at the Tax commission and loved her job and the many people that she worked with. The true joys of her life were her three grand babies, Hailee, Chase, and Issac. She was always involved in everything in their lives. Mom was a shopaholic and scrapbook fanatic. She loved to shop for everything and would spend hours in scrapbook stores. She had her own little scrapbook store at her home, she always wanted to have just the right paper for the scrapbook page she was working on. Mom also loved to travel with her dear Girlfriends; they had made numerous trips to Disneyland and Disneyworld. They were the Grandmas riding all the rides, like they were little kids. Mom was a big animal lover, especially her dogs. The family would like to thank the nurses and Doctors in the U of U ER and SICU that lovingly took care of Karen. Also, the Singing Angels from Judge that brought such comfort. She had many sisters from her ward that gave great service. Mom is preceded in death by her parents, Dell and Aleda Beckstrom, her younger sister Luann Bright, and by her angel baby Scott Brandon Strasrypka. She is survived by her son Todd, daughter-in-law Lindy Strasrypka, Grandchildren Hailee, Chase, and Issac, Nieces, Nephews and extended family, and by the best friends a girl could have in the world Sandy, Cheryl, and Arla. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Foxboro 1st Ward, 875 W. Foxboro Dr., North Salt Lake.
