Karin F Taylor

March 19, 1936 — September 23, 2022

On September 23, 2022, after a long struggle with cancer, Elaine Karin Fisher Taylor took her last breath and slipped into eternity. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend.

Karin was born on March 19, 1936, to Alma and Elva Fisher. She had two sisters: Martha Fisher Ward (deceased) and Laurel Fisher Ferrel (David). She spent most of her life in Bountiful, Utah, and graduated from Davis High School in 1954.

Karin earned a degree in elementary education from Brigham Young University in 1958 and later attended the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Utah, where she met Bayard Taylor. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 23, 1960. They had five children: Stuart (Emily Chang), Brent, Jeff, Rebecca, and Alison (Nathan Smart). Bayard passed away on March 9, 2011.

Karin loved family history, root beer, the television show Lark Rise to Candleford, the Hallmark movie Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade (which she made us all watch), the book The Road Less Traveled, and the Tabernacle Choir. She took violin lessons in her 80s and enjoyed leading the music in DUP (Daughters of Utah Pioneers) meetings. She valued her service as a poll worker for several elections and as a docent at the Church History Museum. She and Bayard spent most of their vacation time traveling to see their children and grandchildren. She was proud of her six grandchildren and loved to support them at their events.

About five years ago, Karin said she had some of the best friends she’d ever had. Her family would like to say thank you to each of those wonderful friends, especially Bobbie Christy, Rosemary Gadd, and Jim and Arlene Brannan. Your friendship enriched Karin’s life immensely.

Thank you to the staff and volunteers at Welcome Home Assisted Living. Your loving care was exactly what we needed at just the right time.
