It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Karissa Ruth Torres Wall, a beloved mother, sister, and daughter. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.
Karissa was born in New Haven, Connecticut, on December 11, 1981, to Dr. Anthony Ronald Torres and Joyce Marcroft Torres. She passed away on December 10, 2024, in Centerville, Utah, at the age of 42.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ron, and her brother, Anthony.
Karissa is survived by her children: step-son Dylon, Talon, and Khloe; her mother Joyce; her siblings: Ronald; Josette (Tusi) with children Abigail, Alexis, Devin, Ella, Easton, and Lily; Rachael (Gregory) with children Marcos, Hollyn, Venice, and Gisele; Elizabeth (Gerik) with daughters Malibu and Coco; Sarah (Joe) with children Joseph Jr., Ammon, Beckham, Milo, and Capri.
Karissa was a loving mother to Talon and Khloe. She cherished her children more than anything and always sought the best for them. She was a constant presence at Khloe’s dance recitals and Talon’s soccer games. She lovingly called Khloe “Angel” and enjoyed doing her hair and makeup. The family enjoyed making Jello together, and when her children were young, she would sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” to them at bedtime. Karissa’s happiest moments were spent with her children. She also enjoyed picking up small gifts for her kids, nieces, and nephews.
Education was very important to Karissa, and she went to great lengths to ensure her children thrived academically. She taught them life lessons, arranged for tutors, and enrolled them in specialized programs, such as French immersion.
Karissa was devoted to her large, close-knit extended family and was a regular at family gatherings. She was a steady presence for her siblings whenever they needed her. And she was always eager to serve her mother. Her mother, Joyce, was her closest friend and confidante. She had loyal and loving friends until the end.
As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Karissa was dedicated to her faith. She understood the significance of temple covenants and worked to be worthy of them. Her impact on her children, family, and friends is lasting, and her memory will live on through them.
