Our beloved Kasey passed away June 1st, 2013 of a tragic drowning accident in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Kasey was born February 3, 1989 to Bret Val Liljenquist and Susan Cox in Phoenix, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her “daddy Bret” and Grandpa Val Liljenquist. Kasey is survived by her mother Susan, sister Bree and stepfather Gary Cox, also her Grandparents Jone Liljenquist and Meme and Pepe Pelletier and Mr. Darcy, her beloved dog. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will miss her dearly.
Kasey graduated in 2007 from Coral Springs High School in Florida. Later she attended Salt Lake Community College, working toward a degree in ASL interpreting. While living in Utah, she also attended cosmetology school. Lately of Southwest Ranches Florida, she was attending Broward College working on her degree in math pedagogy.
Kasey most recently developed a passion for mud runs and roller derby and excelled at both. She was a very determined girl, passionate about life and her latest “thing”. She loved cooking, camping, climbing, dancing, and anywhere warm. She also loved going up to her family cabin in Bear Lake. She would spend the week out on the boats, basking in the sunshine, and playing games amid the chaos of cousins until late each evening. Always up for a challenge and never comfortable with defeat, she was a firecracker and not easily forgotten by those who met her. She was beautiful, vivacious and deep thinking. We will miss her terribly but know she will find peace with her dad in a much better place.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10 at 12:00pm at the Holladay 14th Ward, 4917 South Viewmont Street, Holladay, Utah. Friends and family may call one hour prior. Interment at Holladay Cemetery.
