Katherine Wagstaff

Our Angel Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Katherine Sonntag Wagstaff passed away April 28th, 2004. The oldest daughter in a family of twelve children, she was born on May 9th 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Peter Sonntag and Lena Tadje Sonntag.

She was married to Cecil Howard Wagstaff on June 20th 1938 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. Cecil passed away on April 1st, 1996.

She was an active member of the L.D.S. Church. She enjoyed her activities in the church and especially the members with whom she associated. She enjoyed positions in all of the auxiliaries of the church.

Her happiest times were gatherings with her family, including picnics in her backyard, family dinners, and family vacations in the outdoors.

Mom’s gone home, and we will miss her sweet presence here. We look forward to her love and hugs when we meet again.

She is survived by 3 brothers, Richard Sonntag, Philip Sonntag, and Donald Sonntag, and 2 sisters Ruth Mickelsen and Marjorie Hoff., her children, Howard Claudia Wagstaff, Brent Wagstaff, Caroyln Monte Yeager, Joan Paul Richards, and Mark Jeanne Wagstaff, 21 Grandchildren, and 29 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the Bountiful 2nd/21st Ward Chapel, 650 South 200 East. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Wednesday morning from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
