In Loving Memory of Kathleen Adams Becker
Kathleen "Kathy" Adams Becker, 88, passed away peacefully from natural causes on January 5, 2025, in Murray, Utah.
Born on June 13, 1936, to Bronson Howard Adams and Edith Selma Lenora Amundsen, Kathleen spent her childhood in the Victorian home built by her great-grandfather, Dyre Amundsen, in 1891. She returned to the family home in 1998 and lived there until 2004, cherishing its deep family history.
Kathleen graduated from Murray High School in 1954 and began working at the retail store, Grand Central, where she met her future husband, James Garst Becker. They married on August 11, 1956. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS temple on May 16, 1972. They shared 44 years together until James passed away on September 13, 2000.
Kathleen's careers included owning a beauty supply store and later working at Dan's Grocery Store in Millcreek, Utah, where her friendly and warm nature made her a favorite among customers. Kathleen loved her work, but her greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends.
She was known for her exceptional cooking and baking, often hosting meals that left no one hungry or unloved. Kathleen also enjoyed quilting, gardening, and preserving traditions with her family.
Kathleen is survived by her siblings, Pat Gardner and Howard Adams (Linda); her children, Lauralee Becker, Scott Becker (Stacey), and Rachelle Sivertson (Todd); 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her parents, Bronson and Edith.
The family will hold private services.
