Kathleen Parker Stoker

May 20, 1928 — August 12, 2021

Katy Stoker, artist, pianist, loving mother and grandmother, left us peacefully on August 12, 2021.

Growing up in Sunset, Utah, Katy first demonstrated her amazing artistic and musical talents at age 5, publicly performing tap dance recitals with her brother Norton. A gifted classical pianist, she later gave piano lessons and taught Kindergarten before attending the Sherwood Music School in Chicago. At 93, she was playing the piano nearly every day.

In 1949, Katy, a member of the Tri Delta sorority, was selected home-coming queen at the University of Utah, helicoptering into the football stadium for a game. In 1950, she married Del Stoker of Salt Lake. Del and Katy took an interest in France while living in Monterey, California and became fluent in French. They traveled to France on several occasions where they made some of their closest friendships.

After a back surgery in her early thirties, she discovered a remarkable talent for art. As a sculpturer and painter, she began a life-long passion for creating beauty in a variety of art forms. As a co-founder of the Venture Gallery in Monterey, her work was collected by people from all over the world. The watercolors of the south of France are among her finest.

Katy is preceded in death by her husband Del and her brothers Norton and Michael Parker. She is survived by her brother Lance Parker, his wife Sharon, her sons Scott and David Stoker, daughters-in-law Patricia Latulippe and Sandy Stoker and grandchildren Philip Stoker, Alex Stoker, Sam Stoker and Jessica Wozniak.

Katy will join her husband Del, together again, surrounded by the magnificent seascape off of Point Lobos in Monterey, California
