Kathleen Wells

Kathleen Wells, age 70, passed away September 28, 2012 in Bountiful, Utah, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis, and other physical handicaps. Daughter of Edwin Gordon and Amy Earl Wells, she was born in Overton and raised in Logandale, Nevada. She grew up in a loving family and enjoyed the hardships and blessings of being reared on the family farm. Due to an unfortunate accident as a very small child, Kathleen suffered severe challenges during her early childhood and throughout her life. But she has a bright, determined spirit that rose to accomplish many things.
Kathleen graduated from Moapa Valley High School and attended BYU and LDS Business College. She spent most of her adult life in Salt Lake City and was employed by a small book publishing company and the Utah Driver License Division.
She was an active and committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kathleen served full time in the Gulf States, Louisiana, Shreveport Mission where she had many friends and enjoyed much success. While working in Salt Lake, she served at least three Church Service Missions. Two were on Temple Square in the Visitors Centers there, and one for Member Locators in the General Relief Society Building.
Kathleen loved to serve others, but when it was her turn to receive, she was so gracious with her “Thank You”. She had a warm, pleasant nature and a kind personality, and was loved by all her nieces and nephews. She loved family gatherings, holidays and reading good books. Her scriptures are well marked and worn by her loving hours with them. She will be remembered by many.
The family wishes to recognize and express many thanks to Life Care Center of Bountiful, Inspiration Hospice, and Heritage Place, Bountiful, as well as the two Branches of Priesthood and Relief Society leaders in those places who have given such loving care to Kathleen during her final difficult years. We are indebted to you all.
Kathleen is survived by her sister, Joanne W. Tingey (Earl); and two brothers, E. Gordon Wells (Annette) and Samuel B. Wells (Patricia). She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, where a public viewing will be held 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the Logandale Cemetery in Nevada.
