Sandra Kay Hargreaves, Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma Gigi passed away on March 10th, 2023 with her two daughters by her side. Diagnosed with Glioblastoma in 2022, she remained fiercely independent and courageous until she was called home.
Kay was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sept 29th, 1948 to James Barton Eddington and Fawn Davis. Her sister Karen was by her side from the moment she was born and all throughout her life. The bond they share as sisters will never be broken. Kay married Theodore C. Hall on November 23rd, 1971 in Elko, Nevada and later was sealed to him for time and all eternity in the SLC temple. In 1973, their daughter Traci was born. Shortly thereafter, Kay became a widow. In 1975, Kay married Michael D. Hargreaves and their daughter Mindi was born. It was raising her two children that really sharpened Kay's infamous 'don't you dare' glare.
Kay was a devoted stay-at-home Mom and thoroughly enjoyed crafting, reading, and gardening. Every weekend the family of four could be found camping and fishing in Idaho or spending time in Yellowstone. She volunteered her time frequently at school when her children were young, later becoming a teacher's aide. She especially loved working alongside children with special needs. Her gift was caring for those who needed it most and loving them unconditionally. Kay's grandkids, Jordan, Cheyenne, and Bryant were her pride and joy. She spent countless hours with them at Chuck E. Cheese playing games and eating pizza. In 2021, her capacity to love was expanded even more when her first great-grandchild Benjamin was born.
Kay was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in her ward and community. She was loved by those who knew her and will be tremendously missed. She leaves behind her daughters Traci Adolph and Mindi Piper (Brett); grandchildren Jordan Forsyth (McKay), Cheyenne Landon, Bryant Landon; great-grandchild Benjamin Forsyth; sister Karen Maxfield; 3 nieces and 2 nephews; step-grandchildren Cory, Daniel, Kevin, Katie and Sarah; and her pets Oakley and Kapri. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted and her parents.
