Keith Snell Harris passed from this life into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father, and the many loved ones awaiting his arrival beyond the veil, October 05, 2012, in Kaysville, Utah. His life was faithfully centered upon the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and his Lord and Savior. He had great faith in Jesus Christ and in the promise of eternal life. He will be missed by all but never forgotten. He loved his family, his church and his country. Keith was born in Lovell, Wyoming on May 1, 1924 to James Keith and Minerva (Snell) Harris.
He graduated from Lovell High School and then attended college at Visalia, California. He then enlisted in the Air Force and took his flight training in California and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. Keith then went on to teach as a Flight Instructor.
At this time he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Eliza Tolman, when they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple, March 17, 1944. He lost his beautiful bride after 50 years while they were on their Golden Wedding Anniversary cruise in Skagway, Alaska on Aug. 6, 1994.
After his discharge he became a civilian flight instructor for several years. Keith then went to work for Continental airlines and several oil companies for 34 years before hanging up his wings after 21,000 hours of flying time and retiring. During his time with the oil companies he flew company executives throughout the world and came to realize what a CHOICE land America and the United States truly are.
Keith was then married to his longtime family friend, Imogene Bell on Feb. 18, 1995 in Denver, CO. She passed away May 6, 2007 in Layton, UT.
Keith then married Doris Jones Oct. 26, 2007 in Rapid City, SD. They were later sealed in the Bountiful Temple Aug. 2, 2011.
Keith served in many LDS church callings including: Patriarch-18 yrs at Pikes Peak Colorado Stake and Bishop-3rd ward, Pikes Peak Stake at Colorado Springs, CO, Sealer for 6 years at the LDS Denver Temple, Denver, CO, High Councilman-Pikes Peak Stake and Genealogist.
Keith loved his Family, the Gospel and Flying. He, along with his sons spent many years flying large model airplanes throughout Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Nevada. He taught and instilled the love of flying in many other people along the way.
Keith is survived by his wife, Doris (Jones) Harris, his children, James K. (Suzane) Harris, Clearfield, UT, Ted (Sue) Harris, Moorcroft, WY, Cindy (Nick) Mondy, Ft. Collins, CO, Mary Kristi (Mike) Jolley, Las Vegas, NV, Holly (David) Urban, Colorado Springs, CO, 5 step children, Anne (Martin)Hollis, Roy, UT, Marty Hamby, Rapid City, SD, Theresa (Lamar)Roemer, Woodlands, TX, Dan(Judy) Bell, Layton, UT, 25 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Toleman) Harris, Imogene (Jennie Small Bell) Harris, son Jerry J. Harris, sister’s, Nadene Harris Turpin, Edna Harris, Maureen Harris and parents, James Keith and Minerva Snell Harris and step-son, Stan Bell.
