Kendal Marie Blanc

September 14, 1984 — January 19, 2021

Our lovely Kendal passed away late Tuesday night, January 19th, 2021. She died peacefully and unexpectedly in her sleep. We know she was not ready to leave this life, and her early passing has left us all with broken hearts.

Kendal Marie Blanc was born on September 14th, 1984, in Boise, Idaho. She is the second daughter of Jeff and Lorri Blanc. Kendal grew up in Boise, Idaho, and Lehi, Utah.

She graduated from Lehi High School where she participated in varsity soccer and track and field. She attended the University of Montana – Billings on a soccer scholarship and completed a semester abroad at Ludwigsburg University of Education in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Afterward she attended Dixie State College in Southern Utah and graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy.

Kendal held various jobs over the years and thought she had found her calling as a massage therapist. However, this was a short-lived career because she realized she didn’t like the day-to-day work. She eventually found her passion as a flight attendant for SkyWest where she worked for the past 11 years. This job allowed her to travel the world, which brought her so much joy, especially when she could visit her friends and play soccer in Germany.

Kendal also lived in many different places including; Boise, Idaho, various cities in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, California, Germany, and Seattle, Washington. Her dream was to live in Germany full time, and she recently started a class to gain a teaching certificate so that she could move there and teach English.

Kendal was full of life, light, and magic. She was a free spirit that didn’t want to be tamed or told what to do. She experienced emotions deeply. Her ability to connect with people and make us laugh enriched our lives. Her thoughtfulness and charitable nature brought so much love to those she cared about. She was intentional with her time. She didn’t want to waste time reading a book she didn’t enjoy, watching a movie that didn’t move her, or a show that didn’t make her laugh. She especially didn’t see the point in eating food that was not delicious.

She is preceded in death by her grand parents, Alma and Marsetta Lowe, and Rosemarie Blanc.

She is survived by her parents: Mother Lorri, Father Jeff (Sandy) and her siblings: Chaney (Michael), Cooper, Carter, and Kourtney (Kaden). Her nieces and nephews whom she has adored: Landon, William, Preslie, Jane, Jameson, and Elias. Grandparents Galen (Gayle) Blanc.

Kendal will remain in our lives as we interact with the books and movies she so loved to quote.

“And at night you will look up at the stars. My star will just be one of the stars, for you. In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night. And so you will love to watch all the stars…

You–only you–will have stars that can laugh. I shall not leave you”. There is sweetness in the laughter of all the stars… and in the memories of those we love.”

-Antoine De Saint-Exupèry, The Little Prince (Katherine Wood translation)
