Kenneth Alan Weston

March 26, 1940 — December 14, 2021

Our most loved brother, uncle and friend, Kenneth Alan Weston, returned to his Heavenly Father on December 14, 2021, in Bountiful Utah, at age 81, following many years of poor health related to Parkinson’s Disease.
Alan was born March 26, 1940, in Milford, Beaver County, Utah to Aleda Mae Duncan and Alfred Kenneth Weston. He attended Meadow Elementary School from 1946-1948. He attended Milford Elementary School and graduated with the Class of 1958 from Milford High School, where he excelled in Track and received State Honors. He attended Southern Utah University (CSU). As a young man, he was employed at Dugway Proving Grounds and then, at Hercules Powder Company.
In 1963, Alan was called to serve in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and in Darmstadt, Germany. He was an Artillery Surveyor. In 1965 he was employed by EDO Western Corp. of Salt Lake City, where he was employed for 39 years in the manufacturing of acoustical transducer systems, which were used in underwater detection. He retired in July 2005 with over 2000 hours of unused, paid sick leave. Integrity was one of his attributes.
Alan was a devoted friend. He was a caring and loving son, brother and uncle. He had a compassionate heart and was always there for whomever needed him. He loved being with family and enjoyed many camping and backpacking trips with family members and friends. He had a special love for the outdoors and had backpacked many of the mountains of the western states. He enjoyed deer hunting with dear friends in the Milford mountains and always came home with a deer, which he enjoyed sharing with others. Family gatherings were always more fun because Alan was there. At Christmas time, he was clever in finding the most treasured gifts for his nieces and nephews, who love him very much. He enjoyed photography and has visited many interesting places.
Alan is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has a special place in his heart for the Salt Lake Thirty-First Ward members, as well as at the Legacy House of Bountiful Branch. He enjoyed special friendships with the residents and staff there.
Alan is survived by his brother Gary Alfred (Mary) Weston and his sister Gayle Ann (Jan S.) Freeman, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews, who dearly love him. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather H. Jay Watson, a brother-in-law Jan S. Freeman, and nephew Andrew J. Weston and cousin Brad (Linda) Weston.
Our family wishes to thank the staff of Legacy House of Bountiful, along with Dee, Marissa, Todd, and other friends of Inspiration Home Health and Hospice who have served and cared for Alan with patience, friendship and compassion. We appreciate you so very much.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, at 11:00 am at the Salt Lake Thirty-First Ward Chapel, 1078 South McClelland St., Salt Lake City, where friends and family my call from 9:45 – 10:45 prior to the service. Interment will be at the Murray City Cemetery.
