Kenneth Rocky Halterman

June 9, 1971 — December 9, 2024

Kenneth "Rocky" Halterman, a cherished husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53 on December 9, 2024, due to cardiac complications. Rocky's life was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. His unwavering devotion to his family, constant support for his friends, and zest for life will be profoundly missed every day.

Born on June 9, 1971, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Rocky and his family later moved to Centerville, where he made his home. It was there that he discovered his talents in soccer and wrestling. He attended Viewmont High School and made many friends along the way, but it was his childhood crew, “The Bodians,” who became lifelong friends and remained a cornerstone of his life. After high school, Rocky served an LDS mission in Kobe, Japan, where his warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on those he met. Known as the “go-to” person for family and friends, he was always ready to offer his support, wisdom, and humor.

In 2000, Rocky met Kendra Barraclough, the love of his life. Although they had known each other for years through their families’ close friendship, it was Mike Wersland, Rocky’s best friend, who played matchmaker and set them up. Rocky often joked that he had been waiting for Kendra to "grow up" because of their 10-year age difference, but when they finally connected, it was instant and undeniable. As he always said, when he met Kendra, he fell hard in love—and it was clear to everyone. On July 9, 2004, they were married, beginning a beautiful life together. Together, they shared a passion for adventure, travel, soccer games, and concerts. Rocky's love for Kendra was unwavering and evident in everything he did. He was her biggest supporter, celebrating every milestone—whether it was her achievements on the soccer field or her career accomplishments. Though he hated her being away for work trips, he never stopped supporting her dreams, always missing her deeply but brimming with pride at her accomplishments.

Rocky’s greatest joy was being a father to his children: Mason Cole (20), Marley Jade (17), and Remi Shay (8). He took immense pride in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent with them—they were his world. Watching them grow brought him endless happiness. Whether cheering from the sidelines, having heart-to-heart conversations, or playing countless games of tag and hide-and-seek, Rocky was always there, capturing each precious memory with his camera. He loved taking family trips, whether on cruises, to Cancun, or playing in the ocean, making every moment together special.

Above all, Rocky instilled perseverance and a strong sense of support in his family. He encouraged them to take on challenges and be their best. Known for his humor, he always knew how to make people laugh with his playful spirit and “slivers of truth.” But when times were tough, he was a steady and unwavering pillar of strength.

As a successful entrepreneur, Rocky was constantly striving to better himself and his business. Whether working on his computer or juggling multiple phones, he never stopped learning. A lover of a good deal, he was always armed with a coupon and a true foodie at heart. Though he enjoyed soccer, golf, fishing, and hunting, it was the time spent with friends that meant the most to him.

Rocky is survived by his loving wife, Kendra Lynn Halterman; his cherished children, Mason, Marley, and Remi; his mother, Alice Ann Halterman; his brother, Christian Lance Halterman; his brother-in-law, Miguel Peterson; his nephew, Hunter Kone; his in-laws, Robin and Jill Barraclough; brothers-in-law, Rodrigo Toledo, Lance, Royce, Jace Barraclough, Joe Sanduk, Chris Harris and Jeff Torghele, sisters-in-law, Lisa Toledo, Shelice Torghele, Holly Barraclough, Nikki Harris, Jamie Sanduk, Cindi Barraclough, Abby Barraclough, and Dana Sanduk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kenna Peterson; his father, Ken Halterman; and his best friend, Mike Wersland.

Rocky, thank you for your love, for being the best dad, and for filling our lives with laughter, joy, and countless unforgettable memories. We love you forever!
