Kenneth Harlow Bollinger

June 17, 1922 — June 18, 2015

Kenneth Harlow Bollinger, our loving and generous father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away June 18, 2015 of natural causes at the age of 93. He was born in Salt Lake City to Friedrich Bollinger and Freda Buehler Bollinger on June 17, 1922. Ken grew up in Salt Lake and graduated from East High School. He then attended the University of Utah until he signed up for the Civil Air Corps, where he repaired radar for B17 bombers during WWII. In 1941, he married his sweetheart, VeLoy Tucker, in the Salt Lake Temple and moved to Spokane, WA.  After the war, they moved back to Salt Lake City and together, they started T.V. Specialists, an electronics repair shop, in 1953. It has become a successful family business, in which all of his children and many of his grandchildren have worked at some point in time. Ken and VeLoy enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family. One of their favorite places was their home in Palm Desert, California where they loved to play golf and tennis. Ken was an avid aviator who loved flying his plane whenever he could. Furthermore, Ken was very service oriented. He and VeLoy were hosts at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for many years. He also held many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has served many people. He has greatly missed VeLoy since she passed away on Nov. 3, 2011 and is now reunited with her.

Survived by one daughter, Judy (Bill) Stagg; three sons, Jerry (Judy); Ted (Kelley); and Steve (Dawn); 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his six siblings: Ron, Virginia, Julian, Ruth, Dorothy, and Joe.

We would like to thank his wonderful caregivers from Danville and the staff and aides at The Coventry who made sure he was always comfortable and well taken care of.

Funeral services will be held at the Foothill 7th Ward (2215 East Roosevelt Ave.) on Tuesday, June 23 at 11:00am, friends may call prior to services from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
