Kenneth Lund, 88, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2004 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born in Logan, Utah, April 12, 1916, son of Yeppa Lund and Veda Scott Lund. He attended public schools, Utah State University and Boeing School of Aeronautics. In 1941, he started to work for United Air Lines as a pilot, flying co-pilot for 18 months. He was then promoted to Captain and Fleet Captain, until he retired 25 years later. In 1942, he married Ann Baxter. The marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Logan Temple. During 1943 and 1944, he flew Military aircraft for the Military Air Command in the United States and over the Pacific to Australia and New Zealand. While employed with United Air Lines, he was based in Portland, Oregon, Chicago, Illinois, and Menlo Park, California. During retirement, he was a land developer in Murphys, California. He moved to Provo, Utah in 1996 where he was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pleasant View 6th Ward. He was an avid traveler. He enjoyed woodworking, weaving, reading, camping and fishing. He is survived by his brothers, Howard Lund Betty, Daines Lund Joyce, sister, June Henry Schumann; three sons, Robert Lund Dena, Richard Lund Shauna, and William Lund Eileen; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the Davis Creek 3rd Ward Chapel, 425 South 50 East, Farmington, where friends may call from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. prior to services.
