Kenneth Larsen Wright

Kenneth Larsen Wright (Ken), age 78, passed away on October 27, 2024, in Layton, Utah, surrounded by family after a courageous journey with pulmonary fibrosis and other health issues. Ken was born on February 25, 1946, in Roosevelt, Utah, to Earl and Sadonia Wright. He grew up on a ranch in Duchesne, Utah, where he learned the values of hard work, resilience, and service that would shape his life.

At age 19, Ken served a 2.5-year mission in the Franco-Belgian Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, deepening his faith and dedication. Shortly thereafter, he joined the U.S. Army, where he proudly served as a Captain.

Ken married his sweetheart, Kris, and together they raised a family marked by love, faith, and adventure. He worked at Farm Credit Services, where he made agricultural loans that supported the farming community he respected. A man of many talents, Ken had a gift for fixing just about anything and enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and woodworking.

He served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden and Bountiful Temples, finding great joy in his church callings and dedicating his time to the Lord through serving others. Ken’s life was focused on Jesus Christ, and he was an example to all who knew him as he loved and accepted everyone without judgment. His greatest happiness was the time spent with his family, who were his pride and joy. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing stories, skills, and laughter with them.

Ken is survived by his devoted wife, Kris, and their five children: Dave (Melanie) Wright, DeAnn (Shawn) Andreasen, Richelle (Jeff) Dopp, Mike (Jamie) Wright, and Kaylene (Chad) Stander, as well as 25 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and his sister, NaDene Dana. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Alan Wright, and his grandson, Jackson Keate. He will be remembered for his positivity, humility, and love, despite his numerous health challenges, and was truly an example of enduring to the end.

Viewings will be Friday, November 1, 2024 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. The funeral services will be Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sand Springs Chapel, 3161 West 150 North, Layton, Utah. Interment: Centerville Cemetery.
