Bountiful- Kermit J. Du Bois was born April 24, 1926 in Salt Lake City to Joseph Lewis and Edith Corbin Du Bois. He passed away at his home on September 4, 2014. He grew up in Thompson, Utah with his siblings, Keith, Kenneth and Marjorie.
Kermit married Vivian LaRee Cook on February 17,1951 in Reno, Nevada, where Kermit was employed. They have two children son, Steven and daughter, Sharon.
Kermit spent his professional career as a salesman and manager in the men’s retail clothing business. His first employer was Pullman Tailors, where he met Vivian. Kermit then went to work managing various custom clothing stores. Throughout the 1950s, Kermit and Vivian lived in Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Nevada and Idaho opening new stores. He later went to work for English Tailors in Ogden and spent the last part of his career with Mr. Mac.
Kermit loved to fish and was also an accomplished bowler and golfer. He was a member of the LDS church.
Kermit was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and his sister. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vivian; son Steven (Cindy); daughter Sharon; Janet Ferguson; brother Kenneth (Rae) of Tooele; three grandchildren, Darren (Alayna), Nicole (Duane) Gray, and Kristina (currently serving an LDS mission in the Czech Republic) and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Symbii staff (Elisa, Lindsay and Nicole) for the care and kindness they gave Kermit.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, where a viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
