Kristene George Haslam

June 14, 1958 — July 2, 2021

Kristene George Haslam passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 63 after battling that ‘C’ word she did not like to talk about.

Kris was born in Logan, Utah on June 14, 1958 to Arlin and Coralle Knight.  She was the oldest of five children. She grew up in Oregon and California and at 16 moved to Farmington to live with her Aunt Lois and cousins.

She graduated from Davis High School and then went on to study at Ricks college and BYU. While at BYU she was set up on a blind date with Zachary Lynn George whom she later married in the Salt Lake temple on December 27, 1979. Together they settled down and raised their four children in Farmington, Utah.

In 2008 she unexpectedly lost her husband Zach to a heart attack.  Afterwards she went back to school to complete a degree in elementary education and was a 2nd grade teacher at Sand Springs Elementary for three years.  In 2013 she was set up on another blind date where she met Kevin Haslam.  They were married seven months later on February 20, 2014. Six months into their marriage she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Kevin was a support to her through every appointment and treatment. Despite the diagnosis she and Kevin traveled around the world and lived life to the fullest in their seven years of marriage.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking, serving as an ordinance worker at the Bountiful Temple, Legos, gardening, knitting, spending time with her grandchildren and walking in the mornings with her dear friends.

Kris leaves behind her husband Kevin and children: Jennifer Lerch (Matthew), Kiera, Ian, Sam,  Tiffany Groscost, Benjamin Haslam (Sarah), Sarah Mazuran (Christopher), Betsy Haslam, Timothy Haslam (Nikki), 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A viewing will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Russon Mortuary and Crematory, 1941 North Main, Farmington.

Funeral services will be held July 9th at 11:00am at the Farmington Crossing Ward building located at 980 Shepard Church Drive in Farmington Utah. Visitations will be held prior to the funeral services from 9:45 to 10:45.
