Kyle (Fife) David Koopmeiners was born July 20, 1989 to Karmella and Dennis Koopmeiners in Fort Myers, Florida. He is the third out of four children. After living in the state of Florida for eleven years they made the move to Utah.
Kyle met so many amazing friends and had some incredible memories here in Utah. After attending Lehi High and AALC, an alternative high school, he attained his GED. He then went to Salt Lake Community College and Utah Valley University and excelled academically. He loved the Biotechnology Field and anything to deal with the small details of life here, as we know it. He received his Bachelors in Biochemistry. Fife was a very independent individual who made it his mission to make it through school and life without any debt. He worked as a server at Won Won Wok, Red Lobster as a server and a bartender, Beans and Brews, and Starbucks. He then began working in labs such as Biofire, The State of Utah’s health department laboratory, and last but not least Nemametrix Laboratory.
Kyle was not disliked by a single person he met. He had a magnetic personality and laugh that drew people to the conversation he was having. He was known for his love for music, playing covers of his favorite bands and some original music of his own. He had a passion of brewing beer and making homemade wine. He had a love for nature and how the feeling of the grass on your back on a chilly night could let you escape the trials of life, even if it’s for a short time.
Fife is survived by his Mother and Father, Karmella and Dennis, his two brothers, David and Kevin, His sister, Kristi, and his girlfriend, Shandi Poulsen. Kyle was taken from us quicker than anyone of us would have liked but let us remember the kind, intelligent, and gentle human being that he was. The legacy of Kyle will live on through a dedicated teaching laboratory at Salt Lake Community College in his name as well as a scholarship fund in his name. He will be forever missed.
