LaFay Fay Allred Peterson, age 90, passed away from this mortal life on November 1, 2004. She was born March 19, 1914 in Naples, Utah to Robert Burton and Sylvia Roberts Allred. She attended Uintah County schools, graduating from Alterra High School. She married Floyd R. Peterson of Ogden on October 4, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Roy, Duchesne, Roosevelt and Vernal, Utah. Floyd died in March 1973. Since then, Fay has lived in Farmington and Fruit Heights. Fay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held numerous positions of leadership and responsibility. She served as 2nd Ward MIA President, counselor in the Roosevelt Stake Primary Presidency, Ward Relief Society President twice, and Roosevelt Stake Relief Society President. She also served a four-year stake mission and thirteen years as a Temple Ordinance Worker in the Ogden and Bountiful Temples. She was a member of the Aurelia Rodgers D.U.P. Camp and the Farmington Jr. Literary Club. Fay and her husband Floyd were owners of the F.R. Peterson Distributing Company for twenty-seven years. She also served on the first Duchesne County Zoning Commission. She loved being a homemaker and was an avid gardener and cook. Fay is survived by her children, Dee Nancy Peterson of Fruit Heights; Marie of Branson, MO; and Linda Albert Bird of University Place, WA. Her family includes 11 grandchildren two preceded her in death and 12 great-grandchildren. Fay had limitless faith in God and spent her life in service to others. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her many friends and family. A memorial services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the Davis Creek Chapel, 825 South 50 East, Farmington, Utah approach from Glovers Lane. Friends may call between 10:30 and 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Graveside services and burial will be held Monday, November 8, at 12:00 noon at the Vernal Memorial Park, Vernal, Utah. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the LDS Church Missionary or Perpetual Education fund.
